The Transformers franchise continues its downwards spiral at the domestic box office while still managing to come in first place. ‘Transformers: The Last Knight’ brought in an estimated $44,680,073 over the weekend for a total of $68,475,562 domestically since its release last Wednesday. However, Transformers 5 continued on as a juggernaut at the international box office. Bringing in almost 200 million dollars since it’s initial overseas release. ‘Wonder Woman’ continued it’s dominance at the domestic box office bringing another $24,906,310 in its fourth week of release. After this weekend’s results, ‘Wonder Woman’ surpassed ‘Batman V. Superman’s’ haul at the domestic box office. And more importantly, it became the highest-grossing live action film ever for a female director. ‘Cars 3’ stumbled slightly at the box office in its second week. Not only losing the top spot at the box office but also the second spot without a second wide release feature debuting this weekend. Cars 3 brought in another $24,074,497 bringing the film’s domestic total to $98,782,390. ’47 Meters Down’ and ‘The Mummy’ round out the top 5 with $7,088,262 and $6,060,495 respectively.
