Most of us refer to her as Beyonce or Queen Bey, but for companies like Red Lobster, the superstar is simply the gift that keeps on giving, at least at the moment. In case you’ve been completely disconnected, Beyonce referred back to the element of surprise and dropped off a brand new record, ‘Formation,’ this past weekend with an accompanying visual. Proudly conveying just how much pride she takes in her culture and heritage, the song became an instant success among fans. But what would a Beyonce song be without one-liners? We still don’t know as ‘Formation’ is attached with plenty, and one in particular majorly benefited Red Lobster over the course of Saturday and Sunday (2/6 & 2/7). With pride and conviction, Mrs. Carter sings, “When he fuck me good I take his ass to Red Lobster, cause I slay,” and with that, the company rapidly saw a spike in sales over the course of the weekend as Red Lobster became the “it” restaurant to be at. Via CNBC, CEO Kim Lopdrup reports a 33% increase of sales come this past Sunday.
Weekend sales at Red Lobster saw a significant boost from “Queen Bey,” spiking 33 percent on Sunday over last year, company brass said.
“We are absolutely delighted with what we saw over the weekend, particularly the consumer sentiment that we saw expressed,” Kim Lopdrup, CEO of Red Lobster, told CNBC. “It’s clear that Beyonce has helped create some Red Lobster fans, and we are very grateful to her for that.”
As if that wasn’t enough, the brand has renamed some of its signature items in honor of the singer.
Cheddar Bay Biscuits are now Cheddar “Bey” Biscuits and their Bay Breeze drinks are “Bey” Breezes.
The moral of the story is: Nothing bad ever comes from a Beyonce endorsement. If you need more of Mrs. Carter in your life, Beyonce will be hitting the road very soon for her newly-announced “The Formation World Tour.” You can see if she’ll be making a stop near you, here.
