With the NBA season officially over as the Cleveland Cavaliers were crowned champions, the focus for all 30 teams now shifts to the draft. On Thursday, 60 players will be selected by an NBA team and hope to take the next step in their careers.
Among the most notable of those names is Ben Simmons. The LSU freshman is a consensus top-two pick and most believe he will go first overall to the Philadelphia 76ers. One of the most hyped up prospects in years, Simmons is billed to be a star on the court, but he’s already becoming a star off of it.
In a hilarious new ad for Footlocker, the Aussie power forward receives advice from some of the most notable rookies from last year’s class. Unanimous Rookie of the Year Karl-Anthony Towns as well as Suns guard Devin Booker and Lakers guard D’Angelo Russell give quick tidbits of advice to the soon to be drafted forward.
Russell is perhaps the real star of the ad, however. Ben Simmons’ high-school teammate makes a hilarious allusion to a situation in which he infamously filmed teammate Nick Young speaking about cheating on his fiancée.
The team at Footlocker continues to crush it with hilarious commercials and this might be one of their best pieces of work.
