Robyn Rihanna Fenty was born in 1988 on Barbados and was signed to Def Jam Records in 2005 by former CEO Jay-Z. It did not take long until “Pon de Replay” conquered the clubs and hearts. Whilst her first two albums Music of the Sun and A girl Like Me were very Caribbean-influenced Good Girl Gone Bad, released in 2007, took another direction and was inspired by Brandy’s Afrodisiac. Rihanna left her good girl image behind with the release of Rated R portraying a darker atmoshpere as a consequence of the Chris Brown incident. With Loud Rihanna started to incorporate electro sounds into her songs and continued doing so on Talk That Talk. In 2012 Rihanna released Unapologetic which even featured a reunion with former boyfriend Chris Brown on “Nobody’s Business”.
