Ciara Princess Harris was born October 25, 1985 in Austin, Texas and saw different parts of the world during her childhood due to her father being in the US army. Years later her family settled in Atlanta, Georgia, where she pursued her career in the music business. Eventually she got signed as a songwriter and met Jazze Pha, who introduced her to L.A. Reid who signed her to LaFace Records.
Ciara’s debut album called Goodies was released in 2004 and stormed the charts with the classics “Goodies” featuring Petey Pablo, “1, 2 Step” featuring Missy Elliott and “Oh” featuring Ludacris.
In 2006, Ciara: The Evolution got released and spawned the hits “Get Up”, “Promise” and “Like A Boy”. Thanks to reaching the number one spot on the US album charts, the album received the platinum certification.
After the great success Ciara’s next two albums, Fantasy Ride and Basic Instinct, did not meet the expectations and resulted in a label change.
Now with Epic Records, Ciara released her self-titled album which featured songs like “Body Party” and “I’m Out” featuring Nicki Minaj and debuted at number two on the Billboard charts. Her sixth album was release in 2015 and was called after her mother, Jackie
Ciara has a son named Future Zahir with rapper Future.
