Golden State Warriors star sixth man Andre Iguodala is set to hit free agency very soon. The 2015 NBA Finals MVP has been an intrical part of the recent wave of success the Warriors have seen over the last three years and he’s getting ready to be courted on the open market. The wingman might be looking to get his payday but he also doesn’t want the Warriors fans to freak out.
He’s reportedly already agreed to re-sign with the Dubs at an unnamed price but other teams will court him, as expected. Iguodala called in to KBLX 102.9 FM in the Bay Area to speak about his free agency. He stresses patience from people as he heads into July 1st.
“Business is business, so you’ve got to do your due diligence,” Iguodala said. “I’ma let my people do their thing and see how it goes, but the Bay has been special to me.
“You always have your perfect situation and you hope that gets done. So I’ma let my people do their jobs. I just want everybody to be respectful of that and not get too emotional about it, because I’ve been getting hit up (like) crazy and I haven’t said anything so I’m just a little lost at times, like what happened? I just had a newborn so I’ve been at home trying to be a good father.”
