According to a report by NBC news, 20 passengers were injured on a South African Airways flight from Johannesburg to Hong Kong On Wedsnessay. The plane was hit by strong turbulence which caused some of the passengers to be flung out of their seats and even hit their heads on the roof of the cabin. Now, I can’t help but ask were these people wearing their seatbelts? We all know, regardless of age, we all roll our eyes when the flight attendant asks us to fasten our seatbelts.
Most of the time, the majority of us, even remove the seatbelt during the flight. I hope this is a reminder to all of us why it is important to keep the seatbelts on during the flight. My mother always says; “prevention is better than cure”, so next time you are on a flight, do your part. The last thing we want to do is take safety for granted. Thankfully, despite some injuries, everyone on the flight gets to enjoy another day.
